Harrison County GOP | Voters Are Ditching Democrat Party

Harrison County GOP Meeting 12/2/21 —
This was a high-energy, well-attended gathering of people who are taking back their government! Senator Steve West and State Representative Mark Hart spoke to the group, introducing candidates and thanked them for running. Harrison County is on the verge of flipping the County to Republican representation, stating that out of 21 people who filed, 13 were Republicans, while only 8 were Democrats. Democrats also do not have a primary candidate, and therefore want to have open primaries (to try to keep Republicans out), meanwhile, Representative Hart is fighting tooth and nail to keep the primary closed, so the party can choose its candidates. Redistricting was discussed - but no map has been seen, Congressman Thomas Massie hasn’t seen one - some representatives may lose some counties; pick up others. After the meeting I had a chance to speak with State Representative - Mark Hart; Chairman of the Republican Party - Mike Fisher; Secretary of the Harrison County Republican Party - Brenda Packard, about how they flipped a majority of the fiscal court to Republican, without holding an election.
